Santa Treat Boxes

Around Christmas there is always pressure to think up cute, affordable and easy gift ideas to give to classmates, co-workers, teachers and neighbors. My boys, like most kids, want to be a part of all of the festivities. This year we created Santa treat boxes using Wonka® Gobstopper® Candy Canes and filled the boxes with an assortment of Nestlé® chocolates to give to their teachers and our neighbors.
Creating these Santa treat boxes is simple and with a little bit of help from an adult your children can have a finished product they are proud of and excited to give away.
- Craft Chinese takeout style boxes
- Wonka® Gobstopper® Candy Canes
- Red, Black and gold cardstock
- Small white craft pom poms
- Assorted Nestlé® Holiday Chocolate
With an adults help cut a ½ inch wide strip of black paper to create Santa’s belt, a rectangle of gold cardstock for the belt buckle and a triangle for Santa’s hat. Secure the black strip of paper to the middle of a Chinese takeout box with glue and then glue the gold rectangle over top.
Glue a white pom pom to the top of the red triangle and apply to the top corner of the box with glue. Allow all glue to dry (10-15 minutes). Once the glue has dried use tape to secure two Wonka® Gobstopper® Candy Canes to the bottom of the box. Use two strips per candy cane.
If you are creating these boxes with older children let them use their imagination – they could just as easily create reindeer boxes with the addition of a few brown pipe cleaners!
