based on 46 reviews
Invited to a last-minute holiday party and have no time to bake? All you have to do is use one or more of our NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Refrigerated Holiday Cookie Dough products plus a few other ingredients. In no time at all, you will have a cookie platter that looks like you spent hours baking!

Ingredients:

  • NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Refrigerated Holiday Sugar Cookie Shapes with Decorator Icing
  • NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Refrigerated Sugar Cookie Tub Dough
  • NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Refrigerated Gingerbread Cookie Tub Dough
  • Additional icing*, holiday sugars, sprinkles, jimmies, and/or NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Morsels

Directions:

PREPARE AND BAKE cookies according to package directions. Cool completely on wire racks. Decorate as desired; arrange cookies on holiday platter or create a winter scene (see below).

* To make additional cookie icing, combine 1 cup sifted powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon of milk and 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract in small bowl. Stir in additional milk, a teaspoon at a time, until desired consistency. For colored icing, tint with food coloring.

TIP:
To create the winter scene pictured, use a rimmed baking tray as the base for the scene. For the snow, which supports the cookie characters, use granulated sugar because it sparkles so nicely.

Last year they included red AND green icing packets- this year, I opened my two packages to find only one red in each one. Same price point- Disappointing!

Simple and fun. I used the Holiday shapes as a fun hands on activity for my daughter's party. With all the different decorations, each child made their own decorated cookie to take home with them to eat or show off to their family.

Every year my daughter wants to try a different cookie to leave Santa. We chose these to make this year. Of course we had to bake them last week first to make sure that Santa would like them. The bonding we had during the measuring and tasting made everlasting memories for both of us.

Delightful!

MARISA FLORES from FRISCO, TX

My nephews were pleased to help make these cookies for their aunts and uncles. It was a great way to spend time together since I live far away from them. It sure did take a lot of time and patience to prepare the cookies. They were delightful cookies! YES!

Tasted fine, but baked up hard

Susan Campbell from GRASS LAKE, MI

I agree with the Kansas baker, who found the gingerbread too hard for her taste. I followed the directions exactly, and they were too stiff, so subtracted 2-3 minutes off successive batches until I finally got them soft enough. Good dippers next day with coffe, though.

I ran out of time last year & was feeling bad because I didn't have cookies for Santa. Nestle to the rescue, I made these up in the afternoon & let my son decorate them that evening. We put out several for Santa that night and he loved them. The rest were gone within a day! Thanks!

I let 4yr old niece make these which was a bit messy with her help yet she loved putting them on pan and decorating (what she didn't keep eating of the frosting) PS I recommend to watch them closely for I like my cookies soft and take out early usually but we didn't on these and felt too hard for our liking. Thanks

Holiday sugar cookie

falisha gink from MAUMEE, OH

Sugar shaped cookies were very good but a little too sweet. But, if you do not have time to make your favorite sugar cookie recipe these a perfect to make. I found if they are baked the afternoon you are serving them, they are much better.

Great sugar cookies

B HOLTBERG from NEW YORK MILLS, MN

I bought the sugar cookies and baked them-they taste very good. I rolled out the rest of the dough and cut it out also, and ended up with 3 more dozen cookies. I like thinner cookies so rolled the dough thinner than suggested and the cookies were great! The frosting also tasted good.

fun for the kids

Erin Dent from Alamogordo, NM

The kids had a blast and there was less of a mess for clean up which made it more enjoyable!

great fun for kids

Dawnelle Plant from MARTINSBURG, WV

I have 3 children and a very small kitchen the already cut out shapes made it very easy for me and the kids to make cookies without a mess of flour. The icing in the package with the cookie dough is wonderful and help me save on baking cost because I didn't have to buy two or three tubes of icing that i would only use half and have to throw away! I love this recipe it really brings alot of holiday cheer.

Love the Gingerbread! So does Hubby

Leslie Mayorga from SUWANEE, GA

My husband BEGS me to make Gingerbread cookies every Christmas, but to be honest, I hate to roll out the dough. I enjoy making TONS of chocolate chip and other drop cookies, but the rolling out dough just seems so tedious to me. These cookies are FANTASTIC! WE have made them so many times since Thanksgiving. WE love decorating them, and it really brings the whole family into the kitchen. I really wish that Nestle would continue to carry these cookies all year long! What a great idea, and they taste wonderful.

Holiday Shapes are a timesaver!

Guilt-free Cookies

Mary-Ellyn Tarzy from Poway, CA

gingerbread cookie cut-out sheets

lisa sanchez from louisville, OH

I made these for a holiday party and they were easy and tasted great. They stayed soft after baking and I decorated them by drizzling white icing over them and sprinkling them with red and green sugar. The icing gave them a more contemporary look and was less time intensive than the traditional gingerbread man trimming. I will definitely make these again.
