I had been looking for this recipe for a few days and finally found it here. I needed to use some chocolate kisses I had so I could cleanse some cabinet space. Te recipe is super easy, my little guy enjoyed helping (and eating the chocolate). Beware, the chocolate does not really stay on when cooled so best to make these in bite size portions so one can pop a whole cookie in mouth.
Excellent is right!
Yum! I chose this cookie, along with the 'Tis the Season Holiday Macaroons (also outstanding!), to assemble for a cookie exchange this past Christmas. I knew these would be good, since I had already tried the Sweetheart Cookies here and these are the same, except with holiday bells instead. They were SO cute and delicious! There ended up being three different kinds of peanut butter cookies topped with chocolate pieces at the cookie exchange and these Thumbprint cookies were gone first! The Butterfinger candy adds such an interesting texture to that part of the cookie and everyone loved them! Will make again! *If you're pressed for time, you can also try using refrigerated cookie dough and roll that into balls with sugar/follow the recipe from there to get a similarly great effect.
These cookies have always meant Christmas is getting really close. I used to make these with my mother, but we used kisses instead of bells. These are always one of the first desserts to go at our holiday get togethers. They turn out soft and chewy, not hard and crumbly. If you are going to make them ahead of time, they freeze wonderfully. You can even sneek one out now and then and heat it in the microwave for about 8 seconds. YUMMY!!!

this is a very good recipe, there are a few tricks to making them a little diffrent;i will share a few,you can use mint or candy. Very good addition to a good cookie.
To Beat The February Blahs !
I meant to make these over Christmas, but never got it done, so...on a wintry February day I pulled out the stashed caramel filled chocolates( which were excellent, I wasn't able to find Jingles here in Canada) and had these out on a plate when the kids fought their way home thru the snowdrifts. What a hit ! A definite keeper. Quick, easy and impressive. Put some much needed sunshine into a dreary February day.
So much fun to make
I made these the other day and they are great. The kids had so much fun helping. I made the cookie dough and the kids did the rest. It's a wonderful change in the ordiary peanut butter cookies. We ran out of the butterfinger candies and finished using kisses. So I would recommended picking up two bags of the candies.
Great Festive Cookie
I just made these today and they were a hit with my husband. He wants to take them to work. I guess I will let him. Merry Holiday's
Tasty cookies, easy to make!
I made these cookies using kisses instead of jingles. Great cookies, very simple to make! Some recipes like this don't hold the candy in place or are too dry and crumbly, but these were the perfect consistency! My family just loved 'em! I will definately make these again, but I'll try the jingles next time!
